Why I call myself Photographer Extrordinaire

I received a very interesting comment today from an anonymous person. It says that the person is amused at my signature "photographer extraordinaire" adding that i should let my clients or my viewers judge me and brand me as such and not myself, if i was really extra ordinary. There was also a question on why I moderate the comments in my blog and if I have insecurities for doing so.

This post is not really a reply to whoever this anonymous person is. Let God be the judge of his character. This person maybe meaning well, but I wouldn't really know. Its not for me to judge. I am but a happy photographer :D

And so I am sharing this with everyone for the purposes of enlightenment, and hopefully be able to share my ideals and my approach to life with others, so that any questions need not be left unanswered. Although, sometimes it is best we leave it at that.

I apologize if to those who may be curious about the comment but since the blog is moderated, I already deleted the post. First because it doesn't have anything to do with photography. Second because I don't allow anonymous comments on the photos. That's why there's a Cbox for other free messages. And Last, because I would like to preserve peace and harmony in my blog.

This blog is about sharing what I know about photography. Sharing myself to the world. And that is why I moderate comments. Yes, I have had my share of insecurities in life - a path I respect because of the lessons it has taught me but dare not to take once more. This is not the reason why I moderate comments though. The moderation is there to ensure that each comment is either purposeful, or uplifting. By purposeful I mean that it will help me improve on my photography.

As I have said in my previous posts, I do not claim to know anything about photography, but what I know, I believe is enough for me to share or inspire others about the craft. But learning is a gift, I too learn while I teach, and the more I learn, the more I can share.

Also, my old blog 'The Sleepy Traveler" have had comments that were merely advertisements. It had nothing to do with the blog and this is another type of comment I am avoiding.

By uplifting I mean that it will help me stay as a positive individual. I do not expect all people to appreciate my work, but those who do, even if there was only one person inspired with what I do, then I too am inspired to do more and get better. That is worth more to me than a thousand negative comments.

This is what I would like my blog to have - a positive side of life. Which brings us to why I use my signature as it is now.

Yes I do use Photographer Extrordinaire (less the a in ExtrAorinaire since you say it with an English twang. hehe) as a signature because it serves a purpose in my life. I use it because, yes, I am extraordinary. We all are. Everyone has something extraordinary inside of them. I am therefore my own cheerleader, and thus I am happy because there will always be someone cheering for me - me. And so I urge everyone to call themselves extrordinaries.

I do not need to wait for anyone to judge or give me a brand.

I do not let the world control who I am because my experiences and how I see myself make me who I am.

My signature is therefore for my own indulgence. I cannot live by the judgments of others because if I did, I may never recover. I am happy with who I am and if I see myself being a better person :D

And last, it is simply an affirmation for myself because I believe that truly thoughts are things. It is because of that, that I live to be a photographer. Without it, I would probably be still be stuck in the corporate world, because I thought back then that I was not good enough.

I hope Ive shared a thing or two about life with this post. I hope to inspire others while sharing my photography. This is my purpose in this world. To show the world of God's greatness and glory through my eyes.

I am truly grateful for those who have given purposeful and/or uplifting comments. I really appreciate all of you.

God bless everyone :D
